Dia de Lempira!
July 20th has always been a normal day for me (from what I can remember), however in Honduras, July 20th is a huge celebration! Yesterday, July 20, 2012, we celebrated the life of Indio Lempira, a Lencan chief in the 1500's who led the revolt against the Spaniards. Lempira is a hero in Honduras, so yesterday at school we had a huge fiesta to celebrate! Check out all the fun!
My class performed a drama telling
the history of Indio Lempira
The Deaf students performed the "Hymn of Indio Lempira"
in sign. It was a lot of hard work,
I was really proud of them!
I am so blessed to have been a part of this fun cultural experience!
It was a fun day, filled with many memories :)
Thank you for reading! May the blessings of our Father flood your heart.
